Using Twitter to Drive Traffic to Your Sales Website

April 30th, 2010 Dominic D. Johnstone 0

Twitter.com gives users up to 140 key strokes to send their friends and followers a brief message. That says what? It answers the question, what am I doing right now?

Did you ever imagine that a social networking concept as basic and simplistic as this could become so popular?

We all know why Facebook is interesting! Its because we can see snapshots into the lives of our friends. They show us what they want us to know, and we consume it rabidly. We can see their photos, read their daily status updates and even play games like Scrabble. Who would have imagined that a social website dedicated soley to the commonplace status update would become so widespread?

As you know, Twitter is a very future minded website. It is becoming the rage with people young and old, and has captured the eye of online marketers around the world.

No matter how basic or boring the concept appears to be at first glance, it is very powerful. Just a few years ago not many people would have thought anyone would care if say for example – I am going for a grand mocca frappaccino at Starbucks with John. Nowadays, people are very interested in the minutia of each others lives. Well add that to the explosive growth rate of memberships on these viral social networking sites, and it introduces a very powerful marketing tool.

You see at Twitter.com you can post as many updates as you can and want to in as short a time as you feel like. Most people dont want to be viewed as annoying or spammy with their posts, but many people do add multiple status updates per week.

hats more is that Twitter allows you to post hyperlinks to your site via links that you post in your updates. If they are long hyperlinks, they use tinyurls but if they are just domain name, then they will post as is. Either way, Google regards inbound links from good neighborhoods as a good thing. As you gain notoriety online, your profile may be seen as good by Google too.

For example, take the Twitter profile page of EZineArticles.com editor Chris Knight. http://twitter.com/ChrisKnight . He has thousands of people following him and he is following thousands of people. As of time of writing his Twitter profile page has a Google page ranking of 5. That is fairly impressive for just another profile page on a social network website.

The benefit of the second factor is that Google will see the numerous links inbound to your site from higher page rank sites. While your own page rank may not be a critical factor, the inbound links is still fairly important.

In summary, Twitter.com is a new and fairly rudimentary website at first glance. Yet under the surface it is clearly a very effective viral marketing tool. When you consider the considerable growth experienced by sites like YouTube.com and Bankrate.com due to the introduction of viral growth mechanisms such as inviting friends and following people, you can understand the importance of using new and burgeoning sites like Twitter.com.

Ways To Make Money – Hit The Target Market

April 26th, 2010 Brian Lett 0

Often times people already engaged in an online business are still looking for new ways to make money. My suggestion to these people is that they focus on their current business, and just become more efficient.

Your first goal should be to personify your classic customer. This customer is the one who, based on their needs, would be most interested in what your online business has to offer. If you can do this, you will be able to pinpoint your target market, and avoid marketing to those who are unlikely to be interested in what you have to offer. This is a critical step for the home business with a limited budget. Taking this step will greatly increase your probability for success.

I am quite certain that most of you who are reading this article have heard of the company America Online (AOL). I am also sure that some of you received ten or more of their CD-ROM sleeves in the mail. I am absolutely sure that a fair number of you threw every one of these CD-ROM sleeves in the garbage. Do you realize that this is exactly what AOL expected the vast majority of you to do. Back then, the Internet market share was wide open and up for grabs. Even if you were not interested at the time, perhaps due to the lack of a computer, at least you knew that AOL provided Internet service. Since it was very difficult for AOL to identify I niche to market to, and they had the money, AOL marketed to everyone. As more and more people bought computers and realized that the Internet was here to stay, the market grew. Such a market is difficult to target.

With regards to your online business, you more than likely cannot afford to expend tens of thousands of marketing dollars all over the internet. Therefore, you need to identify your target market, and focus your marketing efforts on this group.

Ask yourself the following:

Which group of individuals actually need what your online business sells? For example, if your online business sells weight loss products, your target market would include a group of individuals who need to lose weight. These can be people with diabetes or hypertension who actually NEED to lose weight. Thereafter, you have to find out who wants your what you are offering. Those in the WANT group could be people who simply are not satisfied with their current weight, and want to get into better shape. Sure, they do not need what your business offers, unlike the last group, but they sure want it.

Next, look at your current customers. Who are they? Where do they live? Are they primarily male of female? How did they find out about you? Do they spend a lot of time surfing the web? Furthermore, you can ask your customers what they like about your home business, and what they think would benefit from change. Answers to these questions will make it easier for you to narrow down your target marketing audience, find them online, and market your home business to them.

Hence, getting a clear understanding of which market segments both need and want what you online business offers will enable you to expand the profit margin of your current business. If you do this, you will not need to focus on ways to make money through multiple businesses.

This article will provide you with ideas and tips, plus a realistic & fair assessment of what it’s going to take, for you to succeed. Do you want a hint? 97% of individuals who try making money on the internet, give up.box 150x150 Start Making Money On The Internet

So far, it is not sounding exactly rosy. You are going to be exposed to so much hype, if you haven’t already, that you will miss the honesty and respect you are getting here. It is far better to know what to expect, than to be misled. Do you agree?

Look, there is actually some awesome news: There is no way that you will not make money online, if you do the following things; resolve that you will not quit, find some more experienced peers you can turn to when you get stuck, commit to learning a couple basic skill sets that everyone should learn before they are able to make money, and put those skills into action on a daily, recurring basis.

What about the bad news? Well, it could take you a year of dedicated work before you get the momentum for the money to come in regularly. The overwhelming majority of people, find this unacceptable, so they quit, usually with a net loss. If you are in the distinct minority of individuals who say they want to earn online income, and you actually do it, then welcome to the 3% club.

So, where are you going to find teachers whom you can turn to in times of need? You need to find some online forums on the niche of making money online. Go to Google and type in, making money on the internet forums.

Remember this for anytime you need to learn about something on any subject in the world, and to have people you can interact with. Alright, check out several of them to get a feel for them. Join a few and introduce yourself if they have an introduction thread. Start asking questions. Do not feel like you need to be answering questions. You want to contribute value, and a sincere question does that, while a phony baloney answer does not.

You want to add value to the forum and a sincere question does that. Lurkers will have the same questions but never ask, so you are helping them, as well as others who come after you, for years. You may find members volunteering to be free tutors, since they want to practice how to teach, so they can charge for the service later on. Perhaps they are hoping to find future potential testimonials. If they tell you that you must join a program and make payments monthly, then it may not be what they are presenting it as.

The two main skills you are going to learn, are bum marketing, also known as, article marketing, and list building. Look up free tutorials and start doing what you are reading about, and when you need help doing it, go to the forums and ask. If you follow the protocols laid out here, you will be making money on the internet, and when momentum builds, it will never stop.

Affiliate Program Potential

April 21st, 2010 Jay Brandon 0

Many affiliate merchants have failed at affiliate programs, and many affiliates have complained about the failures. There could be many reasons they were unsuccessful, there is no way to know for sure. Maybe affiliate expectations are too high? Perhaps they didn’t put in enough effort? In the end it is clear these programs don’t work for everyone.

In regards to merchants is seems the leading cause for this is lack of creditability. If people don’t trust what you are saying about something they aren’t going to buy from you. Very few people who visit your site will actually click on the affiliate link and even fewer are going to buy anything. To make sales you need as much traffic as possible and you need to have a reliable reputation.

If you’re looking at making affiliate marketing one of your main revenue earners then be prepared to put in a lot of hard work. You’re going need to be constantly promoting and finding new ways to boost your reputation to be ahead of the other guys.

The best way to make money is to use affiliate marketing as an addition to your existing business, not as your main source of income. Be convincing if you want to make sales, help your customers chose the product and make the decision. The better your reputation of being a creditable source of information the more sales you will make. It is possible to make affiliate marketing your main source of income if you learn how to help and inform your customers. It takes a lot of work but many people do it.

Use newsletters to their full advantage, add personal endorsements and see how much it boost sales! The extra work we were talking about 10-20 hours of research a week is all it takes to make more than you would working a part-time work week. Stick with it, its worth it in the end!

You may be the one with a network of affiliates. It takes following the right steps and some hard work to live and work at your leisure. No more full time, hourly job, you can be the boss.

Affiliate Marketing – Your Basic Guide!

April 18th, 2010 Asem Eltaher 0

In fact, the internet has opened up innumerable ways of earning extra cash. One such option for earning money from the comfort of your home is affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is nothing but online marketing where one particular business entity pays money to one or more affiliates who use various marketing strategies to direct customers to make use of their products and services.

Who are the key players in Affiliate marketing?

There are a total of four entities involved. The first is the merchant who is the prime business entity. The second is the affiliate who advertises the product or service of the merchant. The third is the network through which advertising is done and the fourth is the consumer who purchases the products or services. While these are the four entities since the beginning, today there are other players that include super affiliates, affiliate marketing agencies, and third-party vendors.

How is affiliate marketing similar or different from regular internet advertising?

There is an overlap in the methods that are used by regular internet marketing companies and affiliates. The overlap is because both marketing techniques include the usage of SEO (search engine optimization), email marketing, paid marketing on search engines, and display advertising. However, there are other methods used by affiliates that are not used in internet marketing. Indeed, affiliates publish reviews of the services and products of the brand through their blogs, which helps to a great extent.

How are the affiliates compensated?

There are various ways of compensating in affiliate marketing. While some old compensation methods are still in existence, there are newer ones that enable faster and better payment. CPS (cost per sale) or revenue sharing is the most preferred compensation methods. Nearly 80% of total affiliates and merchants prefer this method. CPA (cost per action) is another common method of compensation today and is preferred by close to 19% of the affiliates. The other compensation methods in use are CPC (Cost Per Click) and CPM (Cost Per Mille).

How is affiliate marketing beneficial?

Affiliate marketing has a lot of advantages that come with the territory. It is helpful to every person who forms a part of this marketing. The brand is benefited because it helps them to reach customers in various parts of the world. Adding to this, an affiliate also benefits from it because he is able to make money without any risk and with a minimal effort. The customer also will have a larger variety to choose from.

To summarize, affiliate marketing has proved to be a lucrative option for many and is tempting many more to start working from their homes. So, armed with the above mentioned information, you should start looking for your next affiliate mentor.
